The Krupp 28-cm-Kanone 5 E in also known as K5-E. The “E” signifying Eisenbahnlafette railway car gun-mount.
K5-E was a heavy railway gun used by Germany throughout World War II.
Backstory
The Krupp 28-cm-Kanone 5 E is a highly efficient artillery piece renowned for its power and accuracy. With a 28-cm caliber and advanced engineering, it delivers devastating firepower while maintaining precise targeting. This weapon’s optimized design and superior performance make it a formidable force on the battlefield.
The two surviving guns available today are named Robert and Leopold by the Germans. The guns were discovered on a railroad siding in the town of Civitavecchia, on 7 June 1944, shortly after the allies occupied Rome.
