Bast , or Bastet , – in ancient Egypt, the goddess of joy, joy and love, feminine beauty, fertility and home, which was depicted as a cat or a woman with a cat’s head. In the early dynasties, before the domestication of the cat, it was portrayed as a lioness.

Her father is the Sun; mother – Hathor-Luna. Nut , goddess of heaven, is her sister, and her brother is Honsu , casting out evil spirits.

Traditionally, it is associated with sun, fertility and safe delivery in women. Bast has two incarnations – a woman with a cat’s head (good nature) and a lion (aggressive)
