Kitsune is a Japanese word for Fox. Kitsune is a common being in Japanese folklore and modern arts, Kitsune is said living among human beings in ancient Japan and they are often portrayed as guardian or a trickster.
In modern arts they are often used as a guardian symbol.
For example in Metal Gear Solid game series there is Fox Hound and Fox Trot which depict special elite military branch where members of the branch has supernatural power or abilities beyond normal human being.
This origami fox we have here is based upon the design of Hideo Komatsu, coincidently similar to Metal Gears Series developer Hideo Kojima. Could they really be related? I’m not sure since I couldn’t find his picture.
