Emanuel Swedenborg’s Flying Machine
In 1714 Swedish scientist Emanuel Swedenborg sketched an idea for a primitive flying machine. The design consisted of one large oblong wing, mounted on tall stilts with a balance weight slung under cockpit. Two large oars on ether side of the cockpit would propel the ship.
