The Akizuki class destroyers ( Akizuki-gata Kuchikukan) was one of the primary classes of new destroyers of the Imperial Japanese Navy (IJN) after 1942. The IJN called them Type-B Destroyer ( Otsu-gata Kuchikukan?) from their plan name. They were designed to fight larger ships, aircraft and submarines.
In the October of 1944, Vice Admiral Ozawa Jisaburo led Akizuki battle against the Allied forces, the Invasion of Leyte.
On the 25th of October they lost and sunken by a torpedo in the Battle off Cape Enga?o.
