JNR Class C62 is steam locomotive used and built by the Japanese National Railway, it is a 4-6-4 frame type .

It is the largest and fastest steam locomotive from 1948 to 1949 and used to run on Tokyo to Osaka.

This steam locomotive model is particularly popular in Japan and other parts of the world due to its role in Galaxy Express 999’s animation. The space locomotive in the anime is a replicate of Class 62.

Class 62 is now being preserved in Nagoya as a tourist attraction.
